You may submit any sewing related articles including but certainly not limited to - sewing tips, project instructions, where to find sewing supplies, articles about your sewing/crafting experiences, or just about anything else.  Ideally, 250 words or less is great, but you are certainly welcome to submit more than 250 words and you can submit as many articles as you like.   Once your article is printed in the newsletter, you can visit the Guild Dollar store link to print the Guild Dollar form and submit to your neighborhood group leader.  You can earn Guild Dollars to purchase items listed on the Guild Dollar store link.
 

CALL FOR NOMINEES

Our Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter Advisory Board elections will take place at our annual meeting in October this year.  At this time, we are asking for names of any persons interested in running for an elected office. We have good people willing to fill the following positions:

President: Lisa Jordan - 1^st Vice President:  Marilyn Kautzer  -  2^nd Vice President: Vanessa Smith - Secretary: Charlene Newlin  - Treasurer: Rose Turner

 We want to encourage everyone to take an active role in the sewing guild.  If you are interested in running, please do not let anything stop you.  Maybe the person currently holding the position would like to try something else “if Only” there was someone else to take their place.  If you have the time, talent, and interest, we WANT your active participation in the election process.

There are also non-elected positions available on the Chapter Advisory Board.  These include Retail Liaison, Special Events, Guild Dollar Store, and Community Service.

NEIGHBORHOOD GROUP EVENTS

Neighborhood Groups are the heart of the chapter. These groups meet monthly to learn and share ideas with others who sew. Members have lots of fun making projects for themselves as well as charitable projects like Christmas stockings, blankets, cancer caps, toy bears and much more. Neighborhood Groups activities also include presentations by other members or retailers, field trips to fabric stores, help with fitting problems, and other programs determined by each individual group. As an ASG member, you may attend any Neighborhood Group meeting.  Guests may attend up to two meetings. If another Chapter is offering a special speaker or event, you can attend at the member price. 

Non-members can attend Neighborhood Group functions; however, there will be a Visitor's Fee of $10 per event after two complimentary guest visits.
